Sorosis Club of Orange City's 48th Annual Haunted House
Awakening Your Nightmares marks the 48th Annual Haunted House presented by the Orange City Sorosis Club. Since 1978, we have delivered unforgettable Halloween thrills, with generations returning year after year. Many now bring their grandchildren. After nearly five decades of fear, returning guests often compare our Haunted House to Halloween Horror Nights, making our small-town haunt a beloved local tradition
This year, your nightmares will not wait for you to fall asleep… they wake up first.
A birthday party feels a little off. Balloons hang half-deflated, lights flicker overhead, and you may find yourself wondering if you are losing your mind or dreaming! Navigate our infamous dark and twisted maze where every turn feels wrong and the darkness grows longer. You will not feel safe as angry dolls watch from cobwebbed perches while their shadows seem to move on their own. Clowns laugh from places you cannot see, and every doorway pulls you one step deeper into the nightmare.
Nothing stays the same for long.
You will face many fears before reaching the Not-So-Fun House, a bright, chaotic carnival space where nothing behaves the way it should. And once you make your escape, do not let your guard down… our Jasons, yes more than one, have been known to pursue unsuspecting guests long after they think the nightmare is over.
Be warned… once your nightmares awaken, they do not go back to sleep!
We are 100% volunteer-driven, powered by approximately 80 volunteers each night. Many local high school students earn community service hours while learning valuable building, acting, responsibility, and commitment skills from Sorosis Club members.
Our motto is "#1 for Kids," and every scare supports programs that serve children and families throughout the year, including Lunch with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Splash Bash, Operation Santa, and scholarships to graduating high school students. So come out and get scared for a good cause! We dare you to enter these historic grounds where we’ve been scaring people since 1978!
Our annual Haunted House is the highlight of our fundraising year. Entirely volunteer-run, our club of about 25 dedicated women works together to create six thrilling nights of scares. With over 60 volunteers each evening, including talented high school students who bring extra energy and fright! We extend heartfelt thanks to our community supporters and young helpers.
